Two Banded Seabream

The Two-Banded Seabream is commonly found in our coastal waters and is a sure sign of a healthy reef ecosystem. This is a shoal fish and has a silver body and two distinct black bands near the head and tail, is often caught in numbers, making it possible to land several in one session. While not as large as some other species, in Malta they typically measure between 20 to 35 cm and are great fun to catch, especially on light tackle. Their presence in abundance highlights the richness of our marine environment, and they’re a welcome sight for any coastal fishing trip.
