Barracuda

Barracuda are sleek, fast predators commonly found in Maltese waters and can be caught while trolling with lures or live bait. They are instantly recognisable by their long, torpedo-shaped bodies, silver colour, and dark vertical stripes along their sides. In Malta they are typically ranging from 50 to 90 cm in length, some can grow even larger, offering a real challenge to anglers. Known for their aggressive strikes and lightning-fast runs, barracuda put up a strong fight. Caution is advised when handling them due to their sharp, powerful teeth, which can easily cause injury. Their fierce nature and thrilling fight make them a top predator to catch.
