John Dory

John Dory is a unique and fascinating fish, easily recognized by its flat, oval-shaped body and the dark circular mark on its side. It lives in deeper waters and can be caught all year round, often while jigging or using live bait near the bottom. Known for its distinctive appearance and slow, stealthy movements, it’s also considered one of the best-tasting fish you can eat—highly prized by chefs and anglers alike. John Dory typically ranges from 30 to 50 cm in length, though larger specimens do appear. Landing one is always a welcome surprise and a real culinary treat.
